Position Overview: - The commodity manager participates in the development and implementation of the strategic sourcing plans and project related contracts for capital expenditure related projects.
- The CAPEX commodity manager role has both technical as well as commercial responsibilities, in the CM must have a high level of technical expertise and extensive knowledge about both the manufacturing and construction industry as well as the raw materials that comprise the items being manufactured.
- The commodity manager is responsible for interfacing with all Divisions (EPCD, FPD and SQD) and key stakeholders potentially in all regions. (The main objective is for NA region but may expand to include all regions as necessary).
- Focus of role will be to reduce the overall cost of capital expenditure related projects and to minimize the risk associated with such projects through the negotiation and implementation of contracts needed to support the standardization of goods and services needed for the projects.
Specific Responsibilities Include: - Responsible for the negotiations of approximately $50MM in annual spend and normally exceeds $1.5MM in annual cost reductions.
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies in support of the Business plans. Support project portfolio managers in planning and tollgate/stage gate management.
- Develop and maintain source base/relationships for reliable supply. Support project Managers in project procurement execution.
- Track and Monitor price and supply trends on key commodities. Develop procurement plans in areas such as General Labor Classifications, Engineering Services, and Stainless Steel.
- Build strong value added relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Education / Qualifications:
•Bachelor level degree; commercial or chemistry background.
•3- 5 years relevant experience, including operations management, planning, logistics, procurement, manufacturing, marketing.
•Knowledge of current technologies related to: Process analysis, supplychain optimization, procurement, logistics, resource planning and optimization, inventory management, customer integration.
•Chemical Industry Experience
•SAP Materials Management Experience
