Automation - Network Controls Engineer

Industry leading chemical company seeks an Automation - Network Controls Engineer to lead a complex industrial controls system and operations technology network at the company's flagship manufacturing site in St. Louis.   This is NOT an IT Business Enterprise position, but a product process manufacturing system.  The Automation - Network Controls Engineer with be the site's Subject Matter Expert - SME - for the Industrial Control system - Operational Technology Network for chemical production and storage.

 The Automation - Network Controls Engineer will manage the site's control system network infrastructure which includes  Rockwell Automation, Delta V, OSIsoft PI,, while integrating the Ethernet inter-conductivity.  All candidates should have a depth of experience and knowledge of control system network specifications, design, and industry best practices.  

The Automation - Network Controls Engineer will:
 
  • Perform Industrial Control System network assets lifecycle analysis
  • Provide long range industrial control system network strategy
  • Work with vendors to oversee the installation and troubleshooting of network cabling and associated hardware
  • Design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain resilient Industrial Control System/Operational Technology network
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing operations and support networked industrial control systems.
  • Develop Industrial Control System - Operational Technology Network standards and specifications
  • Review capital project scope level networking requirements and network design/specifications
  • Specifies, designs, programs, and documents site related industrial control network architecture modifications 
  • Provide network support for local control system issues which are beyond the scope of local support technicians.
  • Monitor Industrial Control System - Operational Technology Network asset health and performance by utilizing network management tools and systems
  • Monitors, detects, and communicates network threat vector activity
  • Maintains and ensures backup of asset configurations
  • Manages, deploys and ensure set-up of Industrial Control System/Operational Technology Network capital Virtual platforms
  • Configures and deploys network hardware including routers, switches and security appliances in an Industrial Controls System environment
  • Specifies and implements standard operating system workstations, and server operating system software builds and hardware
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • 5+ years of Industrial Control System - Operational Technology Network experience
  • 5+ years experience working in a complex automated manufacturing environment ie. oil and gas, chemical or pharmaceutical
  • Proficiency with routing, switching, network hardware, physical cabling (copper and fiber optics) and network management in an Industrial Control System - Operational Technology production environment.
  • A depth of working experience with Emerson Process Managements Delta V, Rockwell Automations PLC/PAC, Factory Talk, Historian, Plant PAX systems, and OSIsoft PI Historian.
  • Experience with VMWare / Hypervisor Certified preferred
  • CCNA – Industrial Certifie
  • Microsoft Windows Certified
