Opportunity to become the "go-to" Engineer concerning the physical infrastructure of Mining Operations. Will provide expertise in surface mining, involving dragline operations (physical facilities and equipment)..
--- Responsibilities encompass the design, installation, operation, maintenance, modification, construction, modernization, and protection of physical facilities and equipment.
--- Customer satisfaction, safe operation, environmental responsibility, and improved profitability are required to achieve successful results.
--- Comply with all safety procedures and assure compliance with all applicable safety codes and regulations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, statutes, and codes; and assist to secure permits.
--- Utilize Statistical Process Control to improve product quality and process efficiency.
--- Coordinate tracking, implementation, and closure of the area Management of Change Procedure.
--- Monitor maintenance planning, scheduling and work execution. Provide engineering consulting services and recommendations to operations management and other departments within the complex; and act as technical liaison for engineering projects involving various engineering departments.
--- Assist with preparation of plant budget and propose, justify, and implement capital projects and expenditures. Process engineering work requests; prepare project cost estimates; and plan and schedule work.
--- Author, instruct and train employees in safety requirements and procedures for the facility, its equipment, and systems. Provide technical/engineering support to other departments regarding process and/or equipment changes. Prepare appropriate reports, statistics, and recommendations on production engineering activities.
--- Plan, coordinate and schedule predictive and preventive maintenance programs for production equipment. Recommend preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and practices.
--- Furnish engineering, designs, specifications, bills of materials, and cost estimates for construction and major projects of installation and relocation of equipment. Prepare design, layout, drawings, and bills of materials for major maintenance, plant improvement, and other projects.
--- Ensure maintenance of current “as built” drawings and files for all plant structures, systems, equipment, etc. Oversight of the structural, mechanical, electrical, utilities, site, environmental and other construction drawings for the assigned facilities; oversee
--- Perform short, mid, and long range equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
--- Develop and assist in annual budget including cost and financial analysis.
--- Establish and maintain communications between all levels of supervision and management.
--- Environmental design and construction support.
--- Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handling minor problems of a technical nature arising during mining operation.
--- Develop and assist in annual budgets including cost and financial analysis.
--- Investigate problems and/or reported incidents; identify and recommend solutions/alternatives as appropriate.
--- Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or related engineering degree and 7+ years industry experience
--- Experience in surface mining, with experience in dragline operations a plus
--- Previous supervisory and operations experience is desirable
--- Good oral and written communication skills
--- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skill
--- Professional Engineer (PE) certificate a plus
--- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Carlson, MS Office Suite and Runge planning software
