Process Engineer (PE)
Responsibility: The primary responsibility of the Process Engineer is to provide technical and operational oversight to both the plant and field managers. The PE will ensure that all environmental permits and contingency plans are being adhered to, that contract performance is being addressed (recoveries, pipeline specs, etc) and will take on projects to address these. He will monitor that all personnel operate in a safe manner, adhere to policy, understand gathering, processing, compression and trunkline system and implement corrective action toward the root cause of all problems.
PE Skills: The Process Engineer will know the system intimately and understand how its performance impacts both the plant and producers. He will be able to use Promax and hydraulic software to model and troubleshoot operating problems. He will be the subject matter expert on rotating equipment and process chemistry, ensuring that the plant is as reliable as possible. He lets the facts lead to conclusions and uses technical, mathematical, statistical or scientific methods to lead to the root causes of problems. While others may jump to conclusions, the PE uses high level tools that he gained at University to solve problems.
PE will contemplate safe systems and behaviors; implement corrective action.
PE will monitor the plant conditions and optimize daily if necessary.
PE will support Field and Plant managers train and develop personnel.
PE will review the daily and other period performance metrics, implementing corrective action to maximize profits.
PE will oversee the design of projects to improve performance, reduce downtime, provide for a greater level of safety or reduce costs.
PE will oversee the cathodic corrosion program and the internal corrosion inhibition.
PE will be at the plant and often outside to put eye, ears and hands on the equipment.
