The Procurement Global Director reports directly to the Chief Supply Chain and Information Officer (CSIO) and manages a staff of professionals both directly and indirectly at the world headquarters, largest manufacturing facility and primary research facility in Cincinnati, Ohio
Also responsible and supports production facilities in North America, Europe and Asia and product development and technical service centers in several major global markets.
Consistent with their responsibility for worldwide procurement strategy the Director will be responsible for the continued development and execution of a worldwide strategic vendor management program for all product and service providers across all business segments (Coatings, Industrial Manufacturing, Printing & Packaging) in order to support aggressive growth plans.
The Director provides leadership for and coordinates activities around sourcing projects for all direct and indirect materials and services classifications.
The role’s focus is to direct efforts on cost savings, new product development activities, and quality improvements by sourcing, selecting, and partnering with providers.
The Director will also lead in the evaluation of in-sourcing versus outsourcing strategies and the design and implementation of these strategies.
The Director will review and revise existing, and develop and implement necessary additional, global sourcing policies and procedures and develop systems to ensure both consistent and legal application in all company locations.
The role interacts extensively with senior management and leaders across the company.
The Director will participate in the development of key financial performance measures for sourcing specifically as well as the setting and monitoring of performance against company-wide and departmental operating and capital budgets.
The Director will be expected to set annual goals for all direct reports and to measure and report performance to those goals.
It will be critically important for the Director to be a team builder with both willingness and a capacity for coaching and teaching across the business.
The right individual must also have the capacity to nurture internal relationships up, down and across the company organization chart in this matrixed organization.
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Business related discipline
Ten or more years of sourcing experience with a
of that experience in a
Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in the management and development of other professionals.
Clear evidence of strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills; ability to present, support and defend ideas with senior managers and also interact effectively with individual employees.
Demonstrated success at selling difficult ideas and building team and leadership support for complex and significant projects directly affecting corporate growth.
Excellent problem solving, organization, project management and decision-making skills.
Excellent Team Player.
Experience in chemical manufacturing.
Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
CPIM and/or CPM certification
