Your unique role with the company: As the Product Development Engineer you will be in command of very diverse practices in applications and complex concepts and principles in Automotive product design. You will utilize your experience within thermoplastic resins and be directly involved in formulating materials such as high performance engineering resins, TPE, TPO, functional additives, stabilizers, flow enhancing additives, pigments, and mineral based fillers. You will use your strong understanding of OEM specifications and approval processes and work as a liaison between production/QA, sales & marketing, to assist in diversification of existing product portfolio, cost reduction efforts, competitive use of emerging technologies, and resolving internal or customer end issues and concerns.

Location: Suburb of Charlotte, NC 

What we are looking for in a candidate:
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Plastics Engineering or similar.
  • Preferred experience with developing formulations for glass filled resins
  • Strong background in working within automotive industry and formulating TPO, TPE’s, and similar thermoplastic/engineered materials.
  • Understand elements of commercial product development including scale up, production scale compounding, formulation & grade development, materials management, etc.
  • Exposure and understanding of both Injection Molding & Extrusion processes.
