Outstanding opportunity with global chemical leader to join the plant site management team as the Operations Manager for Fermentation. Our client is looking for an experienced operations leader with a proven track record of success managing production units and continuous improvement initiatives.
--- MS/ BS Chemical Engineering degree with 10+ years of leadership experience of operations, engineering and/or manufacturing in chemical, biotech, foods, pharmaceuticals, or related industries.
--- Requires staff management experience
--- Knowledge of FDA/ cGMP/ PSM regulatory/compliance requirements
--- Continuous improvement successes utilizing Lean, Six Sigma methodology
--- Excellent communication and presentation skills
--- Plan, direct, and organize production process activities to deliver the quality product and volume at the lowest cost and in compliance with corporate and government standards, rules, and regulations and other industrial codes and practices
--- Establish the goals to drive the operation, organization, technical and maintenance strategy for the fermentation production unit business.
--- Identify and oversee objectives and key performance measures for continuous improvement initiatives to achieve short and long term goals.
--- Gauge site and operations performance against industry best practice to identify and evaluate new technology that may provide process and productivity improvements.
--- Accountable for safety and health of employees; the integrity of the environment; and quality implementation in the production areas of responsibility.
--- As member of site leadership team, formulate site goals consistent with global strategy as well as site policies and procedures.
--- Establish and direct the communications process regarding business, technical and human resource initiatives, as well as corporate vision, values and strategies for organization under scope of control.
--- Formulate plan and ensure delivery of developmental, compliance, operational, managerial and technical training of staff.
--- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, job standards, performance management and compensation.
--- Support plant and corporate initiatives as outlined in the manufacturing plan.
