WHAT WILL YOU DO
In this role you will have an opportunity to be the face of the department/area. You will be responsible for leading 2 Engineers and up to 20 hourly nonunion technicians. This is a four-shift,24/7 operation, so you may need to spend some time on the off-shifts to ensure accountability. You will be responsible for the operation of the specified area of the Tennessee plant, to include safety, efficiency, quality, production, cost, staffing and project management. You are considered the face of the department/area and should strive to be the technical and operations expert. In this position you will set area priorities for process and staff and assign and mentor employees. Will be the plant contact with City Utilities and industrial gas suppliers. This role will be in the bi products / waste treatment area.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge at state of the art level.
  • Possesses solid skills in communication (verbal and written).
  • Works with other area managers, maintenance and process reliability engineers to achieve plant and company objectives. Will recommend training of other engineers and employees and be involved in the management of the area and staff.
  • *Contacts or visits other manufacturing facilities as necessary and will represent the department in benchmarking exercises across the Network. Has contact with Sales, Marketing and Accounting, administrative functions and Suppliers and professional organizations. Employee works with integrity and upholds the values of the organization.
  • Reports to an Operations Manager
  • Is an active member of the plant staff
  • Provide technical supervision and instructions to process operators

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE CONSIDERED
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline (ie. Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related). At least 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing/chemical processing environment along with 2+ years prior successful management experience a must.
